Hazel M. Spade

Hazel M. Spade, 92, of Middletown, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at her residenc. She was born in Middletown, on May 1, 1912 to parents Thomas and Ruth Ann (Wells) McCarty.

Mrs. Spade worked in the offices of Armco Steel Corporation for 13 years, retiring in 1977. Prior to that she worked for the State of Ohio for 7 years. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and former member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed crafts, music, playing the organ, reading, and traveling.

Hazel is survived by two daughters, Carol Sue (Cecil) Taylor of Middletown and Linda Lou (John) Robertson of Alexandria, SD; one son, Tom (Pat) Spade of Middletown; 9 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Spade in 1953; her parents; and her sister, Suzanne Smith.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 3:30 PM at Woodside Cemetery with Reverend Terry VanHeyningen officiating. There will be no visitation.
