Helen F. “Cookie” Kalnai, 88, of Middletown, Ohio, died on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 29, 1914 to John and Mary (Vase) Kalnai, moved to Middletown at age 3, and spent all her years here.
Helen worked at Inland Container Corp. for 46 years and retired in 1979 as a payroll supervisor. She was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. John´s Church and the Ladies Society. She was a charter member of the Women´s Eagles #528, as well as a member of the Middletown Area Senior Citizens. She loved all sports and was a bowler for a good number of years.
Helen is survived by several nieces and nephews and dear friends, Gladys Allman, Sandy Kieswetter, and Katie Allman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a stepbrother, Joseph P. Slezak, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday, from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Middletown.
