Helen Wheeler

In the early morning of Wed., Apr. 27, 2023, Helen Louise Wheeler passed away at 2:45am. Helen was born on March 27, 1930 in Monroe, Michigan but spent a great deal of her younger years in Thornhill, Tennessee. Helen started her career as a Dental Assistant in Chattanooga, TN. She then moved to Ohio with her husband Gordon. She worked many years in the dental field for Dr. Robert Shamel in Dayton and Dr. James Stewart in Franklin. In 1997, Helen worked at the Heartland Nursing Home in Miamisburg where she retired in 2003. She also volunteered at Heartland for many years after retirement. Helen loved playing the organ, watching her hummingbirds and gardening. Her favorite song was The Wildwood Flower. She loved her pets and won many awards showing her poodle, Ginger. Helen was a kindhearted, sweet, loving, friendly soul who loved to laugh and visit with her many friends and family. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Gordon E. Wheeler; mother Maude Harville; father Carson Wolfe; brother Raymond Wolfe and sister Fleeta Stearns. Helen is survived by her sister, Phyllis Hoffer, nieces and nephews Debbie Smith, Mary Hoffer, Billy Hoffer, Mark Hoffer and Lesley Wolfe Gillen along with many, many precious friends.

A private memorial service will be held for the family.
