Hobert Turner, 92, of Monroe, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Ohio Living Mt. Pleasant. He was born in Altro, Kentucky on March 22, 1925 to parents Alex and Bertha (Parker) Turner. Hobert worked for Armco Steel Corp for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was a 50 year member of American Legion Post 218. He was also a member of Lincoln Lodge F. & A. M #693.
Mr. Turner is survived by his sisters, Jean (Granville) Fox & Geneva Herald and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Turner in 2011; daughter, Patricia Turner in 2013; and his parents.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown with Reverend Robert Crabtree officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery where military honors will be presented. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 5211 Madison Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45227 - OR - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
