Howard C. Reider

Howard C. Reider, 90, of Middletown, passed away at 5:25 a.m. on November 18, 2005. He was born was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on November 13, 1915 to Clarence and Helen Marie (Krause) Reider. He spent most of his life in Middletown and was among one of the first graduating classes of classes of St. John’s High School. <br><br>Mr. Reider worked for Diamond International for 42 years. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, having acquired the Pilgrim Degree. He was also an outstanding member of the Eagles and the Orioles, the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and the Campers Caravan of Knights of Columbus. He was an avid bowler and bowled into his 80’s with numerous teams. He was also a Past Scout Master of the Sea Scouts and he served as a police officer during WWII both of which he was extremely proud.<br><br>Mr. Reider was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, June E. Reider and a daughter, Teresa Jo Ann, 15 years of age. He was also preceded by three brothers and two sisters.<br><br>Mr. Reider is survived by his very special friend, Joan Kiehborth, one brother, Donald (Teresa) Henry, two daughters, Carol Reider of Loveland, Barbara Salley of Middletown and one son, David Reider of Tucson, AZ, special friend Cyndi Bemerer of Loveland. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Lisa M. Utz-Reider of Loveland, Cindy (Terry) Adams of Waynesville, Tom (Paula) Wallace of Middletown, Tina (James) Owens of Indianapolis, Scott Salley of Middletown and Kimberly Johnson of Tucson.<br><br>He also leaves behind but not forgotten eight great grandchildren, Robbie Salley, Ryan, Lauren, N. Olivia and Alec Utz, Christopher Sampson, T. J. Wallace, Christian Johnson and many nieces and nephews one of which was his namesake, Howard Reider. <br><br>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 21, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday, November 20, 2005 from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.<br><br>
