Howard R. "Bob" Tindall

Howard R. “Bob” Tindall, passed away on November 20, 2017 at age 78 due to complications from surgery in Rochester, New York, where he had been living since June.

Bob was born in Middletown, Ohio on December 2, 1938, the son of Howard B. and Donna M. Tindall. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1956 and Miami University in 1960.  At Miami, he was affiliated with Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.  After college, he enlisted in the Air Force Reserve and was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was employed by Armco Steel from 1962 to 1994, working in the industrial engineering, training and benefits departments.  He retired as the Director of Workers' Compensation.  He also represented the company for a term as the President of the Southwestern Ohio Self-Insurers Association.  Following retirement, he worked briefly for General Electric and as a substitute math teacher at Bishop Fenwick High School.  Bob was active in the Middletown community, serving with the Middletown Jaycees and as the Secretary of Armco Founder's Day projects.  He was a supporter of Catholic education in Middletown, serving as a CYO basketball coach and as an officer in the John XXIII Elementary School PTO and as Grand Prize Chairman of the Fenwick Festival.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan M. Tindall in 1995; second wife, Ann Kesling in 2013. He is survived by his son, Tim (Erica Harper) Tindall of Pittsford, New York; step-sons, Tony (Kate) Kesling of Salt Lake City, Utah & Scott (Ellie) Kesling of El Cajon, California; two grandchildren, Elliot & Owen Tindall; and three step-grandchildren, Josh, Clay & Jeremy Kesling.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown.  Private entombment will be held at Woodside Mausoleum with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
