Howard W. Borneman, 80, of Monroe, died Friday, November 7, 2003 at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Carrick, Pennsylvania on January 15, 1923 to the late George W. and Louise (Schmidt) Borneman.
Howard was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and he served in the Pacific. He retired from Armco after 41 years of service to pursue his love of boating. He served as Operations Officer of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary on Lake Erie, cruised the Chesapeake Bay, and sailed offshore Maine and the East Coast.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Lou (Allison) Borneman, four children, Karen Borneman, Kurt (Deanna) Borneman, Karyl (Joe) LaRose, and Karl (Janine) Borneman; four grandchildren, Ben LaRose, Sara, Drew, and Max Borneman; and a sister, Lois ( Bob) Christ.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home, Inc.
