Hubert S. Steele, Sr.

Hubert S. Steele, Sr., 89, of Turtlecreek Township, died Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village, where he resided the past month.

Hubert was retired from Armco Steel Corp., where he was an engineer. He was a member of the Salvation Army, as well as a member and past president of Middletown Senior Citizens. He umpired ball games for the Armco teams, enjoyed golf, and being in a bridge club. He and Katherine have been married 69 years.

Mr. Steele is survived by his wife Katherine (Draxler) Steele of Monroe; two sons, Hubert S. Steele, Jr. of Portsmouth and John Paul (Phyllis) Steele of Largo, FL.; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Major Ralph Michaels officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
