Ida Mae Gilmore, 96, formerly of Middletown, died Monday, May 14, 2007, at St. Charles Care Center in Covington, Kentucky. She was born in Maytown, Kentucky on February 19, 1911 to parents E.M. and Lula (Sample) Pieratt.
Mrs. Gilmore earned her masters degree in education from University of Kentucky. She taught at St. Petersburg Junior College in St. Petersburg, Florida, the University of South Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and retired from West Carrollton Public Schools in Ohio in 1974. She was a member of Eastern Star in Mississippi and Christ United Methodist Church in Middletown, Ohio.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert O. Gilmore in 1974; her parents; brothers, Earl Pieratt, Everett Pieratt, Ernest Pieratt, and Elmer Pieratt; and an infant sister, Emma Pieratt.
She is survived by two sisters, Margie Vincent and Kathrine Truesdell; three nephews, Edward Pieratt, Don Pieratt, and John Pieratt; two nieces, Norma Sturm and Carolyn Miller; and numerous great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, Ohio with Reverend Lisa Ellison officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, Ohio.
Memorial donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Marshall Rd., Middletown, OH 45044.
