Isaac Gilbert

Isaac “Ike” Gilbert, 78, of Middletown, died on October 9, 2006, at Garden Manor Retirement Village. He was born Breathitt County, Kentucky on March 28, 1928 to parents Lincoln and Hazel (Murrell) Gilbert.

Mr. Gilbert was a lifelong farmer, working in Michigan and Lima, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife Mary (South) Gilbert; three sisters: Mammie Green of N. Carolina, Florence of California and Shirley Shaffer of New Jersey; four brothers: Abraham Gilbert of Lima, Ohio, Paul and Ed Gilbert of New Jersey and David Gilbert of Middletown.

Ike was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Troy Gilbert and sisters Mary Hall, Sophie Gregg and Helen Gilbert.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 of Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr. with Reverend Clay Colwell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 10, 2006 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
