Ivan Lee Theiss

Ivan Lee Theiss, 81, of Wayne Township, died Saturday, December 30, 2017, at home.  He was born in Wayne Township, Ohio on August 22, 1936 to parents William and Glenna Louise (Sixt) Theiss.

Mr. Theiss retired from Armco Steel in 1990 after 36 years. After retirement he served as Township Trustee, Township Administrator and was a volunteer on the Life Squad and Fire Department. In his spare time loved gardening.

Mr. Theiss is survived by his wife, Darlene Schooley of 60years; son, Tim (Dianna) Theiss; granddaughter, Jordyn Emily Theiss; brother-in-law, Robert L. Schooley; sister-in-laws, Mickey (Jim) Hilenan, Cathy (Skip) Urquhart, Annette (Dean) Aasheim; numerous nieces, nephews & friends; and his pet pal Harper. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jonathan Michael Theiss; and brother-in-law, Steven Francis Schooley.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Wes Souders officiating.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.  Interment will be at Simonson Chapel Cemetery.
