Jack D. Abner

Jack D. Abner, 75, of Middletown, died Sunday, December 29, 2013. He suffered a heart attack while attending the Bengals game, something he enjoyed doing very much. He was born April 23, 1938 to parents Preston and Thelma (Henderson) Abner.

Jack was in Industrial Sales beginning with Diamond International and ended his career as President / CEO with Shearer Bauer Packaging Company in Cincinnati. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed many sports activities. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and spending time in his flower garden. Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Middletown.

Mr. Abner is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis J. (Duff) Abner; sons, Jack Jr. & Jeff (Tina) Abner; grandchildren, Jordan, Tori, Logan, Luke, Landyn & Lilyln Abner; and brother, Gerald Abner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Abner.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend John Wagner officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
