Jacob F. “Jake” Seibold, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2003. He was born and raised in Middletown, and graduated from Middletown High School in 1939. In 1948 he graduated from Ball State University, and he married Jean West from Middletown.
During World War II he spent three and a half years in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific.Thirty-three years of his life was spent in social work, working for the public. He was Assistant Superintendent of the Oakland County Juvenile Home in Pontiac, Michigan and later moved back to Middletown where he was appointed Butler County Juvenile Probation Officer. He was then appointed Manager of the Middletown Area Safety Council where he worked with all phases of safety such as Home, Industrial, and School safety. He also put all of the Safety Patrol students through their training.
He was later appointed Managing Director of the Middletown Civic Association, which later became the Middletown Area United Way. During this time with the United Way he belonged to many organizations; such as Personnel Association of Butler County, Administrative Management Society of Butler County, Middletown Industrial Council, Rotary Club, and board member of the Butler County AAA. He was also an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #218.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Jean (West) Seibold; daughters, Pam Seibold of Middletown, and Elaine Bailey of Springboro; grandson, Travis Jacob Bailey of Bowling Green, Oh. and a sister, Tess Young of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob F.Seibold Sr; and his sister, Bea Young.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita, with Rev. Lisa Ellison officiating. Interment will follow at Woodside Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
