James A. “Jim” Carberry, 84, of Franklin Township, died Monday, February 27, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Franklin, on May 2, 1921 to Clarence and Mary (Stubbs) Carberry.
Jim served his country in the United States Army, 29th Infantry, during World War II. He retired as a machinist for Armco Steel in 1983. His hobbies included outdoor activities, gardening, hiking, and woodworking. He truly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim had a deep faith and a great enthusiasm for life and will be sadly missed by his three daughters, Alicia (Gerald) Sorrell of Middletown, Catherine (Charles) Lindon of Franklin, and Beth (David) Dennis of Middletown; three sons, Michael (Margie) Carberry and Chris (Bonnie) Carberry, both of Middletown, and Paul E. Carberry of Franklin; two sisters, JoAnn (Russ) Mikesell, Edna McCoy and a brother, Edward 'Pete' Carberry, all of Middletown; sisters-in-law, Ann Puls and Maxine Lindsay; brother-in-law, Richard (Josie) Lindsay; fourteen grandchildren, Karen (Mark) Garitson, Tricia (Mark) Bingham, John Sorrell, Ben Lindon, Jessica (Brian) Alcorn, Eric (Samantha) Carberry, Amy Carberry, Aaron Carberry, Jacob Carberry, Joshua (Kelly) Carberry, Katie (Azim) Moldobakiev, Susan Dennis, Ellen Dennis, and David Dennis; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Alice Carberry in 1999; his parents; sister, Mabel DeHart; and brother, Calvin Moon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodhill Cemetery.
