James A. Mcdowell

James A. McDowell, 70, of Middletown, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Ohio's Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Middletown on May 12, 1952 to parents, James and Wanda Pauline (Wolfe) McDowell.

Jim retired from AK Steel, where he worked as a millwright. He also retired from the Air National Guard of Ohio, after proudly serving for 25 years. Jim adored his family. He had a quick wit, enjoyed tinkering with things and was the family handyman. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone that needed it.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Linda S. (Lay) McDowell; sons, Josh (Tori) McDowell & Jonathan McDowell; grandchildren, Taylor McDowell, Taryn McDowell & Josh McDowell, Jr.; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family & friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Bonnie Thompson & Judy McDowell.

Prayer Service will be Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Father John Civille officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Military honors will be presented by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard at the funeral home following the service.
