James M. Bors

James M. Bors, 89, of Franklin Township, died Sunday, January 31, 2010, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Middletown on September 27, 1920 to parents John and Louisa (Singhoffer) Bors.

Jim worked in the heater soaking pits at Armco Steel and he co-owned Jimbo's Drive-thru with his wife, Doris. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, where he was a flight engineer on a patrol bomber in the North Atlantic. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, the American Legion Post 218 and V.F.W. #3809.

Mr. Bors is survived by his son, James M. (Lee) Bors Jr.; daughters, Katherine L. Vallance, Michelle Bors, Patricia (Dave) Siler and Deborah (Richard) Gibbemeyer; brothers, Rudy Bors and Fred (Jean) Bors; seven grandchildren , Kimberly Wolfe, Matt (Amy) Vallance, Liz (Ben) Zechinati, Rachel Siler, Laura Siler, Kevin Gibbemeyer and Julie Gibbemeyer; and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (McLean) Bors in 2002; son, Joseph Bors; parents; brothers, Steve Bors, Louie Bors and John Bors; sisters, Julia Martin, Betty Averdick and Mary Lisy; and grandson, Jacob Bors.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
