James M. Oditt, 87, of Middletown died on Saturday Aug. 13, 2005 at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Lee City, Ky on Oct. 26, 1917 to Robert & Lucinda (Perkins) Oditt. Mr. Oditt was a WW II Army Veteran, a member of Jefferson Lodge # 90 F. & A.M. and the V. F. W. Post 3809. He enjoyed watching both the Cincinnati Reds, Tiger Woods and spending time with his family.
He is survived by a Son; Gregory L. Oditt, Middletown, two daughters; Carolyn Ann Heatherington, Centerville & Joyce Merriman, Ventura, Ca. two grandsons; Lance Oditt, Dayton, Oh & Jim Merriman, Ventura, Ca.; one brother Earl Oditt, Hamilton, Oh two sisters: Virginia King, Middletown & Eloise Joseph, Hamilton, Oh. And 9 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Oditt was preceded in death by his wife Maxine V. Oditt, 1990, a grand-daughter Sherri Merriman, a daughter-in-law Pamela Oditt-1998, three brothers Sam, Layfette & Carlos Oditt, two sisters; Stella Perkins & Luria DeBord.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home 3805 Roosevelt Blvd.at Bonita Drive. Rev. Keith Oditt officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 6-9 pm at the funeral home, with Jefferson Lodge # 90 F. & A. M. Masonic services at 7:30 pm. Interment at Woodside Cemetery, American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard providing graveside military services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
