James R. Ryan

James R. Ryan, 61, of Middletown, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. He was born in Sunman, Indiana on June 22, 1948 to parents Paul W. and Hazel (Strunk Leek) Ryan.

James worked as a maintenance supervisor for Appleton Papers for 21 years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He loved to play golf and enjoyed working in the yard.

Mr. Ryan is survived by his wife, Gloria ; daughters, Lynne Ryan and Cristy (Ben) Evans; brothers, Mike (Kaye) Ryan, Joe Ryan, Jerry (Susan) Ryan, Steve (Cindy) Ryan and Don Ryan; sister, Kim (Kenny) Goodpastor; and grandchildren, Rick Murphy, Samantha Bliss and Courtney Ryan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, James R. Ryan Jr.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 29, 2010 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
