James "Ron" Daniel

James R. "Ron" Daniel, 75, of Middletown, died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Middletown on January 2, 1939.

Ron worked as an officer for the Middletown Police Department for 27 years, retiring in 1989. He served his country in the United States Navy and was active with Boy Scouts of America and Volksmarching.

Mr. Daniel is survived by his loving & devoted wife, Vicki L. (Massey) Daniel; children, Dawn Wagner, Bryan (Glenda) Daniel & Kevin Daniel; grandchildren, Joshua Alers-Varela, Joseph Daniel, Ciara Alers-Varela, Zachary Daniel & Aaron Daniel; one nephew; one niece; one great niece; and three great great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald E. Daniel; father, Edward J. Daniel; mother, Irene D. Cornett; step father, Herman Cornett; sister, Joyce Sora; and good friend, Luke Ritchie.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Omer Hurlburt III, Dr. Gary Brown and all the staff of Middletown Cardiovascular Associates and Dr. Snehal Patel.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 11:00 am at Grace Baptist Church, 3023 N. Union Rd., Franklin with Pastor Max Fernandez and Jim Winters officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be at Grace Memorial Garden.
