James Thomas Prichard, 75 died Saturday at his residence. He served his country during World War II in the Air Force. James earned both his Bachelors and Masters degrees while attending Eastern Kentucky University and several years of post graduate work at Xavier, Miami University Oxford, and Notre Dame. He began his teaching career at Maple Park Elementary and then went to McKinley Elementary where he also coached basketball. He later became principal of Garfield Elementary, then Taft Elementary, and finally McKinley Elementary until his retirement in 1984. James was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Liberty Home of German Society and the Edelweiss Sports Club, both in Hamilton, and the V.F.W. in Fairfield. He is survived by his wife Anna M. (Schaeberle) Prichard; his mother Alice (Salmons) Prichard; one son James Thomas (Pamela) Prichard, Jr.; two daughters Beverly Ann Prichard and Carolyn Marie (Dusty) Friedley; brothers Roland (Augusta) Prichard, Charley Martin Prichard, Billy Marshall (Carol Mae) Prichard, and Walter Kent (Lana) Prichard; sisters Charlene (Charlie) Pack, Ruth Davidson, and Alice Marie Johnson; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Charley Martin Prichard; brother Willis Phillip Prichard; and sister Josephine Prichard.
Pastor Gene Leiter will officiate the funeral service.
