James W. Davis, 87, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 12, 2012, at home with his family at his bedside. He was born in Middletown on October 4, 1924 to parents Edward and Nettie (McIntosh) Davis.
James worked for Sorg Paper as a machine operator and was a group leader, retiring in 1986. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War and also served with the Ohio Army National Guard.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mildred W. (Chamberlain) Davis; daughters, Brenda Sue (John) Nichols & Patty (James) Pressler; granddaughters, Tammie Sue Isra & Lori Davis; grandson, Jeff Pressler; & great grandchildren, Jacob Davis, Jessica Davis & Delaney Pressler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers & sisters, Max, Mary, Ethel, Helen, Bill, Todd, Paul & Gerald.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Chaplain John Love officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420-1885.
