Janet Lee Boone

Janet Lee Boone, 82, of Middletown, passed away on February 11, 2024. She was born January 11, 1942, to parents James and Rachel Colwell, also of Middletown.

Janet worked as a Lead Supervisor at Precision Packaging/Diversipak in Monroe for many years. She had an exceptional work ethic and it truly showed in everything that she did. Outside of work, you could find Janet meticulously caring for her plants. She had a green thumb and even had plants over 40 years old. She also loved watching her favorite soap operas & westerns, going shopping and solving her crossword puzzles. Janet was the type of person that you could always find doing something. Most of all, Janet cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Starting with her husband and best friend, Jack, whom she was married to for 49 years. They were truly two peas in a pod - always laughing and poking fun at each other. The dynamic that they shared together, trickled into every family function, where they were always considered to be the life of the party. There was never a dull moment. The two of them kept an immaculate home, inside and out and took pride in everything that they owned - even their vehicles. They also shared a love for Boston Terriers, as they had them as their companions for many years. They were inside dogs and spoiled like children. Janet cared very much for her family & friends and always extended a hand to those in need. She had a smile that could light up a room and could make anyone laugh, at any given time. She was a kind, caring and loving soul who could never be forgotten. Janet was loved by many and will be forever missed by all.

Janet is survived by her children, Rick (Stephanie) Griffin, James “Izzy” (Danielle) Boone and Tina Maddox-Wilson; stepchildren, Beth Boone, Tommy Boone, Brenda Stamper, Debbie Roberts and Carla Nicely; grandchildren, Paula Griffin, David Griffin, Jamie Griffin, Ricky Griffin, Electra “Ellie” Boone and Isaiah Boone; step grandchildren, Felicia LaReyna, Tori Bunch, Kadin Bunch and Zoe Bunch; as well as 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Krause, and her brother, Robert Colwell. Additionally, Janet leaves behind several very special friends, Dennis & Linda Wright and Roland Hamilton.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, James (Rachel) Colwell; her beloved husband of 49 years, Jack E. Boone; as well as one son, Patrick “Pat” (Ellen) Griffin and one daughter, Lavita Brock.
