Ikenberry, Jeanette Eileen (Fall)

Jeanette Eileen (Fall) Ikenberry, 93, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. She was born in Jacksonburg, Ohio on May 17, 1923 to parents Charles and Mabel (Smith) Fall.

Jeanette grew up on the Fall farm in Jacksonburg and was the 6th child in a line of 11 children. She was a 1940 graduate of Wayne Township School. After attending The Ohio State University, she returned to Middletown and worked for Aeronca Aircraft Corporation. In 1943, Jeanette married Luther "Ike" Ikenberry, and they were married 63 years. They had three daughters: Joyce, Beverly, and Diana. She and Ike were avid travelers and traveled the globe, from Sydney, Australia to Hawaii to Alaska, Canada, Italy, Panama, the Caribbean and nearly all fifty U.S. states. Throughout her life, she enjoyed her bowling teams, bridge groups, and volunteer work at the Middletown Regional Hospital and the First Presbyterian Church. At Mount Pleasant Retirement Community she enjoyed playing cards and having lunch with her friends and neighbors. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Mrs. Ikenberry is survived by her daughters, Joyce (Bill) Triick, Beverly (Bill) Fowler, & Diana (Mark) Kline; sisters, Mildred Miller, Arlene Morrison & Shirley Hall; six grandchildren, Kristi (Viktor) Krauss, Ryan (Shelby) Triick, Clayton (Marissa) Triick, Katie (Abel) Fowler-Cordova, John Kline & Joseph Kline; and four great grandchildren, Lillian, Elliott, & Nathan Krauss & Leandro Cordova.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Zelma Nickell, Edna Wombold & Florence Fall; and brothers, Lawrence Fall, Charles Fall, Emerson Fall & Edward Fall.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Mary H. Kittredge Chapel at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe with Reverend Michael Isaacs officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the chapel. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
