Jeanne G. Anness, 78, of Middletown, Ohio, died Sunday, February 1, 2004, due to a fire in her home, of undetermined origin. She had recently been preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Russell W. Anness, who died November 30, 2003.

Mrs. Anness was formerly Jeanne Gill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald W. Gill of Cincinnati. She was the mother of two daughters; Martina Hill of Guerneville, California and Mrs. Thomas (Sally Gibbons) Slattery of Middletown, Ohio; one son, Anthony R. Anness of Naples, Florida; twin granddaughters, Emily and Allyn Anness; her two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Patricia) C. Ris and Mrs. Kermit (Joyce) E. Jones of Whispering Pines, North Carolina.

She attended Denison University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, as were her mother, sister Patty and daughter Sally. Jeanne was an avid tournament bridge player until her eye sight failed.

A private family funeral will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery Chapel, Thursday, February 5, 2004. She will be buried there with her parents and grandparents.

Memorial donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society of S. W. Ohio, 4460 Lake Forest Dr., Cincinnati, Ohio 45242 to honor her daughter Sally.
