Jerry D. Jeffries, 39, of Carlisle, Ohio, died on Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan on July 6, 1963 to parents Burnell and Jennie (Herald) Jeffries. Jerry worked as a medical technician for 12 years, most recently working at the GI Center. He was an avid history buff with a special interest in the Civil War. He enjoyed outdoor activities, like canoeing, and spending time with his children and family. Jerry is survived by his wife of 12 ½ years, Kristi (Cope) Jeffries of Carlisle; a daughter, Emily “Pretty Girl” Jeffries and a son, Samuel “Buddy” Jeffries both at home; his mother, Jennie Jeffries of Middletown; two brothers: Gary (Pat) Jeffries and Terry (Connie) Jeffries both of Middletown; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles & Peggy Cope of Franklin; grandmother, Myrtle McCloy of Taylor, MI; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Burnell Jeffries and a grandmother, Malinda Herald. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Pastor Duke Markley officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a memorial fund that has been set up in Jerry’s name at Bank One, 2400 N. Verity Pkwy, Middletown, OH 45042, to benefit his children; or to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 182039 Dept. 013, Columbus, Ohio 43218-2039.
