Jerry Wayne Combs

Jerry Wayne Combs, 66, of Middletown, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Middletown on March 26, 1944 to parents Andrew and Bessie (Powers) Combs.

Jerry worked for Armco/AK Steel Corp in the Hot Strip for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Combs is survived by his wife, Ilse (Schuler) Combs; son, Jason Combs; two step-sons, Todd (Julie) Hollenbaugh and Fred (Ingrid) Hollenbaugh; sister, Wanda (Elmer) Faulkner; brother, Donald (Donna) Combs; brother-in-law, Mitchell Ballard; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Ballard; half-brothers, Charles, Clayton & Ray Combs; and half-sisters, Shirley Phillips, Millie Combs & Ella Heinz.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10:30 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Steven Grooms officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors.
