Joan E. DeBrosse, 91, formerly of Middletown, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at St. Leonard CHI Living Communities in Centerville. She was born in Dayton on November 12, 1931 to parents, Aloysius and Stella (Weckesser) Hirsch.
Joan was a woman of strong faith and was a member of Holy Family Parish in Middletown, where she served on the bereavement committee for many years.
Most of all Joan was devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed by her children, Maurice (Carol) DeBrosse, Jr., Michael (Mary Jo) DeBrosse, Kevin (Teresa) DeBrosse & Karen (Paul) Ryan; grandchildren, Lisa (Matt) Fening, Lindsay (Kent) Pullins, Ashley (Matt) Giannobile, Michelle (Stephen) Sedlak, Michael (Lauren) DeBrosse, Christine DeBrosse, Nicholas DeBrosse, Allison (Adam) Hudak, Brian (Daysha) DeBrosse, Stephanie Ryan & Julieanne Ryan; and great grandchildren, Ian DeBrosse, Emma Honchul, Ava Hudak, Logan Hudak, Ethan Croft-Dooley, Anna Fening, Caroline Fening, Julia Fening, Joseph Pullins, Isaac Pullins, Luca Giannobile, Grace Sedlak, Lucy Sedlak & Jonathan DeBrosse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maurice J. DeBrosse, Sr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish - St. John Church, 1405 First Ave., Middletown, with Father Stephen Lattner OSB as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton.
