Joan E. Skinner, 85, of Middletown, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at her home. She was born in Middletown on September 9, 1932 to parents Frank Valentine and Blanche (Hermann) Koeppel.
Joan was devoted to making a loving home for her family. Also, she was an award-winning artist with her skills in enameling. She was a member of Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church.
Mrs. Skinner is survived by her six children, Virginia (Daniel) Skinner-Linnenberg, Cristin (Ward) Pruden, Patrick (Sandy) Skinner, Michael D. (Colleen) Skinner, Mary (Janeen Smith) Skinner & Johannah (Ken) Osborn; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard D. Skinner; daughter, Robertalee Skinner; parents; brothers, Frank, William, Oscar, John Richard & George Koeppel; and sisters, Elnor Rita Fawns, Roberta Burk & Adelaide Gray.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:30 - 11:30 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
