Joan M. Davies

Joan M. Davies, 78, of Middletown, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Ashland, Kentucky on July 5, 1929 to parents Clyde Griffith and Mary (Paton) Davies.

Mrs. Davies served as a trustee of Middletown Regional Hospital from 1977 - 1994 and to the Middletown Regional Hospital Auxiliary since 1959. She served as secretary to the Board of Trustees from 1977 - 1994, chairperson of the Professional Affairs Committee since 1981, and member of Strategic Planning Committee, Physician Recruitment & Retention Committee, Values & Ethics Committee, & numerous other committee activities. She served as Auxiliary president from 1963 - 1965, during which the High Fever Follies was born, and was recognized for over 33, 000 hours of service to the Auxiliary. She served as chairperson to many committees for the Follies, and was currently serving as co-chair of the Hilltop Gift Shop.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Davies; and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie and Ron Falvo of Columbus; son, Steve Davies and Rob Buzza of Columbus; sister, Barbara Linkins of Middletown; brothers, Donald (Jane) Davies of Columbus and Rick Davies of Middletown; nieces & nephews, Lynn (Jim) Ross, Ann, Sarah, & Maggie of Chagrin Falls, Pete (Lisa) Davies, Connor, Nicholas, & Grant of Powell, Jeff (Karen) Davies, Caroline & Will of Shaker Heights, Beth Davies of Eagle, CO, and Jenny Davies of Denver, CO.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend Dr. Nancy Jones officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
