Joan Reedy

Joan Reedy, 82, of Franklin Township, died Saturday, October 31, 2015, at her residence. She was born in Middletown on September 7, 1933 to parents Bernard and Jeanette (Small) Smith.

Joan lived life to the fullest and was very talented in music & sports. She loved animals, especially horses and was an excellent equestrian. She was a great swimmer, taught with the Red Cross, and loved sailing. She was an avid gardener and won 1st place in the State of Ohio Garden Club.

Ms. Reedy is survived by her five children, Doug Reedy, Ron (Debbie) Reedy, Jane (Bill) Phillips, Mark (Cherie) Reedy & Sharon Rice; their father, Bud Reedy; son-in-law, Bob Zurkey; sister-in-law, Delores Smith; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia "Patty" Zurkey; parents; and brother, Jack Smith.

A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
