Joan Schneider Strain

Joan Schneider Strain, 78, of Middletown, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Monroe on June 26, 1927 to Robert and Maude (Sheehan) Wise.

Joan had lived in Middletown since 1954 and worked as an administrative assistant for Bob´s Truck Service. She also worked for the Mental Health Center and as a teacher´s assistant at Middletown Public Schools. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Joan is survived by her husband, Paul J. Strain; daughter, Janet Schneider (Joseph) Birckbichler of Franklin; sons, Richard (Ruth) Schneider Jr. of Vandalia, Mark (Lisa) Schneider of Franklin, and Jeff (Jennifer) Schneider of Canton, MI; a brother, Patrick (Susan) Wise of Middletown; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Schneider Sr. in Oct. 1997; her parents; 3 brothers; and a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Monroe, with Father David Fay as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
