JoAnn Bruggeman, 81, of Middletown, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. She was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on March 22, 1931 to parents Milo and Florine (Belding) Kirkpatrick.
JoAnn worked as a secretary for Dr. Jack Rolfes. She was a member of Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Knitters Guild and Curves. She was an avid baker, award winning knitter and sports enthusiast. She loved to travel.
Mrs. Bruggeman is survived by her husband, Paul B. Bruggeman; sons, Mark (Rebecca) Bruggeman, Thomas (Cathy) Bruggeman, Michael (Elizabeth) Bruggeman & Timothy (Joanne) Bruggeman; brother, Tom (Pat) Kirkpatrick; and grandchildren, Adele, Hannah, & Adrienne Bruggeman, Meghan Bruggeman, Amy (Grant) Shova, Emily Bruggeman, Matt, Patrick, Molly, & Gretchen Bruggeman, and Joseph, Nathan & Alan Bruggeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Andrew Bruggeman; sister, Rosemary Raab; and brother, Bob Kirkpatrick.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish-St. John's Church, 1405 First Ave., Middletown with Father Ed Pratt as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Society, c/o Holy Family Parish, 201 Clark Street, Middletown, OH 45042 or the charity of donor's choice.
