Joanna Carroll

Joanna Carroll, 80, of Middletown, died Monday, March 16, 2009, at Hawthorn Glen Senior Living Campus. She was born in Middletown on April 27, 1928 to parents Chester and Maggie (Lee) Walters.

Mrs. Carroll worked for U.S. Shoe Corporation for more than 20 years, retiring in 1994.

She is survived by her sons, James Seldon (Carol) Carroll Jr., William Dale (April) Carroll, Rocky Lee Carroll, Timothy Wayne (Ramonia) Carroll, Linville Louis (Ronda) Carroll and Mark Edward (Treva) Carroll; daughters, Betty Jo (Dale) Helton and Deborah Elaine (Willie) Blair; brother, William (Rose) Walters; sixteen grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews & friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Seldon Carroll Sr. in 1984; daughter, Sue Ellen Carroll; parents; brothers, Linville Walters, Cecil Walters and Samuel Walters; and sisters, Edna Hill, Dola Moore, Polly Cress and Mary Prater.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Hawthorn Glen and Hospice of Dayton for their care.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 at 10:00 am at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Major Judy Hart officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
