Joanne “Jodi” Baird, 82, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Spring Hills Assisted Living. Jodi was born November 11, 1935 to parents Joseph and Anna (Ross) Baird and resided in the Middletown area her entire life.
Jodi was a graduate of Lemon-Monroe High School and was employed as a secretary for Armco until her retirement in 1983. She was a life-long member of the Blue Ball Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served as the director of Vacation Bible School. She was also active in Aglow International, serving in various leadership positions. She enjoyed traveling, antiquing, and living her faith.
Jodi was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rev. Dr. George Baird and his wife, Ann (Day) Baird. She is survived by her sisters, Mildred (Carl) Hollon of Monroe & Ruth (Theodore) Martin of Cincinnati; six nieces & nephews, Joseph Baird, Michael Baird, Phyllis (Thomas) Tanner, Timothy Martin, Steven (Cynthia) Hollon & Cynthia (Timothy) Nusbaum; seven great nieces & nephews; and ten great great nieces & nephews.
The family would like to offer its sincere appreciation to the special nurses and staff at Spring Hills and Hospice of Dayton for the care and comfort they provided to Jodi in the last months of her life.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Blue Ball Presbyterian Church, 6901 Roosevelt Ave., Franklin with funeral service immediately following at 11:00 am, Reverend Edward McNulty officiating. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Ball Presbyterian Church, 6901 Roosevelt Ave., Franklin, OH 45005 – OR - Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420-1885.
