Joe Michael Manning, 33, of Middletown, went to heaven at 5:05 AM, Sunday, June 18, 2006, on Father’s Day, at Miami Valley Hospital.
Joe attended John XXIII elementary school and was a graduate of Middletown High School, lettering in Varsity soccer. Joe was very proud to be a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the 82nd Airborne Spec-4, “The Red Devils”. He received many awards, including a certificate of appreciation, while serving in Haiti. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and also a member of the Moose Lodge. Joe was employed by Hamilton Caster in Fairfield, as a clerk.
Joe met his wife Aimee in 1996, and within a week they were married. They celebrated their 10th anniversary on January 10th of 2006. Joe loved music, dancing, good movies, and golf. He was a big kid at heart and loved life. He was the loving father of two beautiful children, Lela Josephine Manning, 7, and Stuart Gregory Manning, 2 years old. They will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tweed Melvin Henning and grandmother, Maxine E. Little, both of Middletown, who welcomed Joe into heaven.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Aimee Lepera Manning, daughter, Lela Josephine Manning, 7 years old, and son, Stuart Gregory Manning, 2 years old, all of Middletown. His father and mother, Michael E. and Nannette Henning Manning of South Carolina, and two younger brothers, Tweed Michael and Martin Michael Manning, both of South Carolina.
Joe’s grandmother, Mary E. Henning of Middletown and grandparents, Everett J. and Donna Manning of Springboro and David M. Anderson of Kissimmee, FL. His father and mother-in-law, Gregory and Connie Lepera. Also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, which Joe touched with his up-lifting spirit.
We love you Joezepy! When you had the chance to sit it out or dance, you Danced!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 23, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church with Father Chuck Mentrup as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday, June 22, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
