Joe Turner, 84, of Middletown, died Thursday, November 14, 2002 at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on March 6, 1918 to parents John C. and Drucilla (Combs) Turner.
Joe worked as a lithographer for Diamond International for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He served his country in the Army and Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 528 and the 3 C's (Civilian Communication Corp.)
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude (Mobley) Turner in 1976; his parents; brothers Roy & Rufus Turner; and sisters Margaret, Marie, & Ruth.
He is survived by his daughter Darlene (Albert) Smith of Middletown; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2002 at 9:30 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. with Rev. Nolan Phillips officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with graveside military honors provided by the American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
