John David Lovely

John David Lovely, 66, of Middletown, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at home. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on June 23, 1945 to parents Norvell and Lena (Peyton) Lovely.

Mr. Lovely retired from AK Steel in 2007 after 42 years of service. He served his country in the US Navy. He was a corpsman serving with the Marines in Vietnam. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #218 and the VFW Post #3809 where he was past commander of both, a member of the Franklin Amvets Post #120 and the Marine Corp League. John also worked part time for both the Middletown Municipal Courts and the 12th District Court. John was also an avid NASCAR fan.

Mr. Lovely is survived by his wife, Frances Howard Lovely; Daughter, Marlinda (Jed) Duff; brother, Kenny (Carol) Lovely; sister, Marilyn (Ralph) York and beloved niece, Francie Kirk; and many other nieces and nephews; granddaughters, Tiffany Lovely and Kelly Jo Bunn; step granddaughters, Caitlin Duff and Cheyenne Duff; great grandson, Keegan David Phillips, his namesake.

John was preceded in death by his parents

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to nurses Julie Doliboa and Dana Wilmot, and Hospice of Dayton.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with his nephew Donnie Schwab officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
