John E. Weidner, 81, of Monroe, died Sunday, May 8, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Van Wert, Ohio on April 18, 1924 to parents Harvey and Bertha (Eberly) Weidner.
John graduated from Fort Wayne Central High School and served briefly in the United States Army Air Force. He went on to graduate from the Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati and had a career with Standard Publishing Company in Mt. Healthy until his retirement in 1988.
Mr. Weidner is survived by his wife, Dorcas (Litherland) Weidner; son, Jeffry (Joanie) Weidner of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Jan H. (Russell) Weaver of Ashland, OH; five grandchildren, Joy H. (Tony) Gittings, Seth, Todd, Peter, & Laura Holdren; two great grandchildren, Tony Jr. and Isabel Gittings; and nieces, Fran Folsom and Margaret 'Peg' Cummans.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Mary Siple and Margaret Dale.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 13, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Monroe Presbyterian Church with Reverend Pat Warren and Chaplain Stan Gockel officiating. Visitation will be Friday, prior to the service from 10-11 AM at the church.
