John F. Kinder

John F. Kinder, 91, of Monroe, died Friday, August 21, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born in Franklin on October 19, 1923 to parents John R. & Gladys Lucille (Schwytzer) Kinder.

John graduated from Franklin High School in 1941. He attended General Motors Institute of Technology in the fall of 1942, co-opping through Frigidaire. He served his country in the Signal Corp branch of the United States Air Force during World War II. Following his service time, he attended the Middletown Business College then went on to the University of Cincinnati (UC), graduating in 1952 with a Certificate in Accounting. He was elected to Alpha Sigma Lambda honorary fraternity for achievements obtained at UC. John worked for The Interstate Folding Box Company for 36 years, holding the positions of cost accountant, Assistant to the Comptroller, Comptroller and Administrative Vice President, retiring in 1983. He later became co-owner of Financial Design Consultants representing Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company. He founded Kinder Financial Services organization in 1986, where he worked with his wife, Mabel, and later joined by his son, John D. Kinder. John was a member of Zion Lutheran Church becoming District Representative of Lutheran Brotherhood in July 1983. He was active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce (JAYCEES), served as director of the Chamber of Commerce for several years and was past president of both the Industrial Division and the MADE Division of the Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Kinder is survived by his wife, Mabel Kinder; children, Gloria (Todd) Kovach, John (Kaye) Kinder and Patti Kinder; sisters, Marjorie K. Barcalow & Marty J. Gifford; grandchildren, Michael Todd Kovach, Melissa Ann Kovach, Michael Dennis (Abby) Kinder, John Christopher Kinder, Nicholas Adam (Ema) Kinder, Michael Aaron (Lori Ann) Kinder and Matthew Alexander Kinder; and great grandchildren, Carson Michael Kinder, Jackson Dennis Kinder, Aaron Michael Kinder and Annika Mahealani Kinder. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 10 North Breiel Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Sara Cutter officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown and also one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be at Springboro Cemetery.
