John F Schumacher

John F. Schumacher, 80, originally of Middletown, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Chesterwood Village in West Chester. He was born in Cincinnati on August 9, 1929 to parents Clarence and Florence (Strotman) Schumacher.

John started work as a pharmacist in 1951 and retired from CVS in 1992. He was a member of Holy Family Parish-Holy Trinity Church, where he sang in the choir, was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus #1610 and volunteered at Middletown Regional Hospital.

Mr. Schumacher is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Brodbeck) Schumacher; sons, Paul (Marge), Mark (Kathy), Steve (Anita) and Andy (Jen) Schumacher; daughters, Chris (Denis) Behm and Sue (Ron) Frazier; brother, Don (Carol) Schumacher; sister-in-law, Annette Schumacher Strauss; 19 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Schumacher.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
