John James Jester, 75, of Madison Township, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Large, Pennsylvania on April 26, 1939 to parents Charles E. and Elizabeth (Chontos) Jester.
John was a teacher for Bishop Fenwick High School for 37 years and was a football coach for the school, as well as serving in various other capacities. He was recently inducted into the Fenwick Athletic Hall of Fame. John was a member of Holy Family Parish, member of the Sons of Italy and held the state office of Treasurer for the organization, was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor McNary Assembly #2299, and was on the Board of Directors of MASCU. He also loved camping and gardening.
Mr. Jester is survived by his wife, Linda (Saccani) Jester; daughter, Amanda (Brett) Jones; sons, Earl (Cindy) Jester & Tom Jester; sisters, Veronica (Ken) Crawford, Nancy (Gene) Hoge & Linda (Dick) Berger; grandchildren, Michelle Rinehart, April Jester, Emmi Melton, Paige Jones & Tyler Jones; and great grandchild, Alana Rinehart. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Bishop Fenwick High School Guardian Angel Fund - OR - Athletic Program, 4855 State Route 122, Franklin, OH 45005.
