John J. Piedel

John J. Piedel, 84, of Middletown, died Monday, October 26, 2015, at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center. He was born in Middletown on May 7, 1931 to parents Steven and Mary (Sigecan) Piedel.

John had worked for GE Aviation for 25 years, retiring as a contract manager in 1982. He was a member of Holy Family Parish.

Mr. Piedel is survived by his sons, Larry Piedel & Dan Piedel; daughter, Karen (Phil) Crowe; daughter-in-law, Susan Piedel; brother, Larry Piedel; sisters, Barbara South & Rose-Marie Steere; grandchildren, Greg, Alison, Shawn, Shannon, Emily, Alexander, Kaitlin, Stephen & Monica; and great grandchildren, A.J. & Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Piedel; son, John C. Piedel; parents; and sisters, Martha Ann Day & Dorothy Sawyer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 30, 2015 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
