John F. "Jack" Margerum, 76, of Middletown, died Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Middletown on August 25, 1938 to parents Howard S. and Mary L. (Busseer) Margerum.
Jack worked as a blacksmith for Armco Steel Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 1994. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of American Legion Post 218, the N.R.A. and Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Margerum is survived by his wife, Darlene (Jackson) Margerum; son, Stanley (Kathy) Margerum; brother, Howard D. Margerum; sisters, Lois Stockmon & Janice (Roger) Riggenbach; grandchildren, Brandon A. Margerum, Holly L. (Ben) Roberts, Jade E. Margerum, Samuel A. Margerum & Zoey A. Margerum; and great grandchild, Jason T. Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jennifer Margerum Bennett.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Jack's friend, Jose Costillo.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1601 Jackson Lane, Middletown with Pastor Chuck Cotton officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Grace Memorial Garden.
