John L. Root

John L. Root, 79, of Middletown, died on December 30, 2007, at Hospice Of Dayton. He was born in Steuben, Maine on July 4, 1928 to parents Harold A. and Ruth (Matthews) Root. John served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Root was an accountant.

He is survived by his wife, Julia (Capozzi) Root;one son: John H. (Donita) Root of Centerville; one brother: Harold Root; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christine, Anthony, Mary & Sarah Root; and great grandchild, Jacob Van Hoose.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at Emmanuel Roman Catholic Church, 149 Franklin St. Dayton, OH, Friday, January 4, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Father Lee L. Sciarrotta as celebrant. Visitation will be at the church Fri. from 9-10:00 AM. Interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Middletown or Hospice of Dayton.
