John Laricchiuta, 85, of Trenton, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Doverwood Village. He was born in Middletown on December 26, 1927 to parents Nicholas and Rosa (Sciannamblo) Laricchiuta.
John was a Journeyman Iron Worker of Local Union 290 in Dayton, Ohio. He was fiercely proud of the trade & loved the rigor & craftsmanship of the construction industry. The bridges & buildings he & his co-workers built stand proudly throughout the Greater Miami Valley & beyond. John served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. In his free time he particularly enjoyed golfing alongside his wife, Marty, & was an avid woodworker with his older brother, Tony.
Mr. Laricchiuta is survived by his son, Mark (Marcia) Laricchiuta.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha "Marty" Laricchiuta in 2010; son, Nicholas Laricchiuta in 2012; and parents.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
