John Madoffori

John Madoffori, 86, of Trenton, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Middletown on May 29, 1929 to parents John and Maria Angelina (Marino) Madaffari.

John worked in purchasing at Fernald for 41 years, retiring in 1993. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving on two naval submarines, the USS Spinax SSR-489 and the USS Diablo 55-479 during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #3809 and the United States Submarine Veterans. He was also a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. John was the fourth mayor of Trenton 1976 - 1985, served on City Council 1970 - 1989 and was the 1981 President of OKI Regional Council of Governments. He was a member of the Trenton Community Improvement Corp. and was the 1966 winner of the Trenton "Beard" Contest.

Mr. Madoffori is survived by his wife, Barbara (Thieman) Madoffori; children, Matthew Madoffori, Julie (Peter) Marts & Michael (Vicky Hoffman) Madoffori; and two grandsons, Jon Madoffori & Jacob Madoffori.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo Madaffari & Anthony G. Madaffari; and sisters, Catherine Iezzoni, Jeanette Uhl, Frances Day & Rose Holcomb.

Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 10:00 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 222 Hamilton Ave., Trenton with Father Stephen Lattner, OSB as celebrant. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
