Oaks, John (Jack) R.
John R. Oaks, 84, of Middletown, died Friday, March 17, 2017, at home. He was born in Ecorse, Michigan on September 2, 1932 to parents Walter and Marie (Cain) Oaks.
Jack retired from McGraw Construction in 1995 as a supervisor after 30 years. He was also a Middletown Police Officer for 17 years and owned Oaks Service Station and Wrecker Service with his father, Walter. Jack served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Jefferson Lodge #90, an Antioch Shriner, Knights Templar, Royal Arch Mason Chapter #87 as well as a Kentucky Colonel.
Mr. Oaks is survived by his wife, Vickie S. Oaks; daughter, Candace (Scott) Schenck; step son, Benjamin (Kimberly) Rush; step daughter, Victoria (Samir) Patel; sister, Audrey (Glenn) Rudicil; grandchildren, Josh (Beverly) Hendrixson, John Wills, Scotty Schenck, Jessica Schenck, Austin Rush, Jessie Moore, Bobby Martin and Iseabail Patel; great grandchildren, Cheyanne, Colton, Averi, Camryn, Brionna, Hunter and Coraline.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Chuck Purvis officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with Masonic services at 12:30 pm. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum where military rites will be accorded by the Middletown Combined Guard.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3229 Burnett Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095.
