Joseph John Studniarz, 75, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on March 13, 1942 to parents Joseph J. and Marion (McDonald) Studniarz.
Joseph received his BSME from Bradford Durfee College of Technology (now the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth), MSE from Northeastern University. He spent his career working with gas and steam turbine technology. Joe was a man of great integrity and character. He loved his family, and lived a rich and fulfilling life. Over the past decade Joseph suffered from neurological conditions including Parkinson's disease and dementia. It is because of these struggles that his family elected to donate Joseph's brain tissue to the University of Maryland Brain and Tissue Institute to facilitate and benefit scientific research on these conditions.
Mr. Studniarz is survived by his wife, Rosemary; children, Rose (Steven) Longworth, Andrew Studniarz and CDR Maureen Studniarz, USN; and grandchildren, Nathaniel Longworth, Amelia Weaver-Studniarz, Maxwell Longworth and Lucy Weaver-Studniarz. He was preceded in death by his parents and step mother, Charlotte Studniarz.
Private services were held for the family. A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at a later date. If you wish to honor his memory, any of the following capture the essence of Joe’s spirit: *Take your family to lunch or dinner at a local, independently owned Mexican restaurant *Donate a few boxes of Captain Crunch cereal to a local food bank (It was his favorite.) *Conserve energy by turning off unnecessary lights in your home(his family will miss hearing Joe holler “LIGHTS!!” or “Where do you think you are, Grand Central Station?!” as he flipped the switch in occupied or unoccupied rooms) *Watch a classic James Bond movie *Adopt or foster a dog in need of a home *Serve as a paid or volunteer poll worker on Election Day.
Memorial donations may be sent to The Brain Donor Project Memorial Contributions, P.O. Box 845, Mason, Ohio 45040.
