Josephine A. Orth

ORTH, Josephine A. (Fisher), 92, of Middletown Ohio, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at her residence. She was born in Middletown on February 27, 1915 to Joseph and Lucy (Bederka) Fisher. Josephine graduated from the old St. John’s High School and worked for several years as a clerk at the G.C. Murphy store in downtown Middletown. On November 13, 1937, she married Imro Henry Orth, who died in 1980. An expert gardener, Josephine was a member of Holy Family Parish and served many years as a Eucharistic Minister at the former St. Mary’s Church and Holy Trinity Church. She is survived by daughters Jo Ann Witherspoon of Middletown and Mary Beth Orth of Cincinnati; sisters Betty Welsh of Middletown and Mary (Robert) Kehr of St. Augustine, Florida; and brothers Peter (Josephine) Fisher of Middletown and Edward (Tina) Fisher of Washington Court House, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Paul, Frank, Joseph, William and John Fisher. Visitation will be Tuesday July 31, 2007 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, Holy Trinity Church 201 Clark St. Middletown. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice Care of Middletown, 1131 Manchester Ave., Middletown, OH 45042 or St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Holy Family Parish, 201 Clark Street, Middletown Ohio 45042.
