Joyce Ann Hackett

Joyce Ann Hackett, 92, of Monroe, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 4, 1924 to parents Arthur F. and Thelma L. (Thurlby) Frost.

Joyce graduated from Wayne State University in 1946. She worked as a clerk in the Butler County Treasurer's office. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and was an avid bridge player.

Mrs. Hackett is survived by her children, Kathleen Hackett, Barbara (Joseph) Dineen, Terrence (Kathleen) Hackett, Colleen (Alan) Hannah, Thomas (Patricia) Hackett & Susan (Steven) Reiner; grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, Megan, Matthew, Michelle, Nicholas, Adam, Daniel, Ashley, Lauren & Sara; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline DeLine; and numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Hackett; parents; sister, Janet Payne; grandson, Jonathan Hannah; and great grandson, Griffin Dineen.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Mt. Pleasant and Hospice of Dayton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 17, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
